Writing short-copy? You need to see this!

In our family we use a term, “The Ransom Version” – which stands for:

Let me take all the time I need to tell you everything you need, want, or even might think you could ever use about whatever-it-is.

I’m adept at it, but it only works with family – and only a few of them!

After my first draft I reach for the delete key and begin to trim things right away. It’s work to pare things down to clear and concise, and I always run the risk of terse prose, which is no better.  I just found something that helped.  Want to see?

Karon Thackston posted two really great thoughts on writing short copy a few days ago that are going to make a difference for me.  Have a look!   http://preview.tinyurl.com/nh74kwl

While you’re doing that, I’m going to click a few links so I’m sure I don’t miss her next thoughts.
